Big Scare

I got the biggest scare last night when I heard one of my grandsons screaming. He is a twin so his brother was following him all around worried. They are only six. He had his cleats on and the lace had come untied. Their soon to be step father was taking the trash down the stairs and they followed behind. It was night after one of their games. They were suppose to be at the table eating but like kids their age they wanted to go with him. About half way down the stairs (we live on the 2nd story) he tripped over his shoelace and fell down the stairs. Neither of the boys can remember how high up he was when he fell but I think he was close to the bottom. The adult was in front of them so he didn't see the actual fall. He just brought him back inside when he knew he was hurt. I knew one of them was hurt immediately because he was screaming. When I go out with them I have them go first and tell them to hold onto the railings. The one that fell is the rebel of the two and doesn't always comply. I have been worried for awhile about him having a fall like that.

I have spent the most time with them and did most of the Mothering but even so they are close with her. I'm Mom and she is Mommy. Once in awhile they call me grandma. The other one they call Nana. I don't want to be called that name. Anyway he hit his head and scraped his face down the right side. It looked worse than it was. We watched him to see if there were signs of a concussion and thank goodness today he is pretty good. Just a little sore but no extreme headaches and no broken bones anywhere. The thing is I am thinking he could have broken his neck. He is lanky like his father so I guess he is somewhat flexible. It was a big scare to me.

So I went searching on the internet and found this little attachment for shoe laces that keep them tied. It's called Snap n Step and the lady who invented them lives in a county close to mine so I should have them soon. I double knot their shoes but they still come untied and supposedly they won't with these attachments. Grandma is a basket case after that it spooked me so much. They already had a bronchial cold which appears to be something they had already before this happened. Mom came in and asked me if she should take him to the ER and I said not yet. We needed to watch him and wake him up when he went to sleep a couple of times. When kids his age fall they almost always hit their head or face. He didn't vomit or get drowsy and he wasn't bleeding. He seems fine and no worse for the wear except he said his head (bruise) and side of his face and one finger was a little sore. It isn't broken. He scraped it a bit during the fall. All my children are grown and one gone so I get really upset over little things now.

Thoughts

I see from the journal posts that drama is alive and well. Part of the problem is people are from all over and the age range is very wide. Some have only experience with fictional vampires and others come from a different frame of reference. Some still think Dracula was based on Vlad the Impaler and it wasn't and that has been proven. So they like him either because they think of him as dark because he killed so many people or that he is a vampire. Coppola went along with that theory but the book was never copyrighted in the US and so adaptations anyway can stray from the actual story. It added a lot to the story he did which was indeed a love story. The book is not and the character is Hungarian. I digress but anyway I have been here a lot longer than my profile shows because I had a couple before the two I have now.

Some people like to get nasty because they cannot be seen and only those in admin know exactly who they are. It's just a social site with a game. The society system is OK but it does leave the door open to drama. The actual vampire community does not have an abundance of Covens. That is associated more with Wicca. We have them but it is in the reverse here. Most are Houses or Temples, Councils and the like. Some are Covens but they are not the majority. Any argument about that topic is silliness because on a site that goes into all levels of things it is not important. Many here don't even talk about vampires within the society system. This is why one of my profiles is out of the group it was in. It was about Wicca. I respect the various forms and the philosophies but it isn't dark and I have no interest in talking about it. If it is dark it is not Wicca but Sorcery and that is something entirely different and it isn't witchcraft either. But it is somewhat inspired by witchcraft but not all of the types. Therefore, with so much diversity, I don't see the need for people to get upset over things. I don't see the need for jealousies. I have to admit I have gotten into it with a few over the length of time I have been here. In the end I have apologized to most. I think it is because of so many viewpoints and spending entirely too much time on the site. If you start succumbing to the drama and there will be drama then take a break. Some people are just not nice. They get pleasure out of making people mad or causing problems. In the community they are chaotic vampires and other names people have coined. They feed from negative energy so when a place is found to have people upset with each other fairly often they will migrate there and yes you can collect energy over the net. It's not a matter of belief because they will keep doing whether you believe it is a viable action or not. I would just let things slide and not take them seriously because in the end, you can turn off the computer.

The whole "feeding" concept is psychosomatic, and suggestible people are prone to such bias.

Really nicely put. Someone with real brains. That's rare here on VR.

Dabbler your opinions and that is all they are, are very predictable. You are not an open minded person but that is all right. I think you are probably a very intelligent and nice man but I hardly ever agree with you on any stance you take. That is what makes the world go round. Your views are not based on facts either but just opinion. I was a Psychology major in college and there are psychologists, professors and all sorts of people all over the world and some with very high IQs and superb backgrounds that would not agree with you. There are thousands of people in the vampire community all around the world and some in places where it is hazardous to their health to come out and speak of such things. Everything stems from the mind so I guess it is how you want to relate to it. I can guarantee you would never want to get in a debate within a forum that was directly in the vampire community...you would be overwhelmed.
